How many attendees is this event suited for?

Less than 50: This event is best suited for a small group. This option may work best for an interactive workshop.
51 -100: This event can facilitate a medium to large group. This is ideal for sessions that have planned audience participation or would like to use breakout rooms. This size is well suited for lecture-style presentations that envision an active Q&A. With more people you can still do Q&A but you’re likely to get many more questions than you can respond to.
More than 100: This event is intended for a large audience. It does not require participants to interact with one another or the use of breakout room

Workshop Fees

Workshop organizers can choose to present their workshops free or charge a registration fee. If Registration fees are selected they will be $10/$20 (student/professional) for a quarter day (2 hours), or $20/$40 (student/professional) for a half day (4 hours). After final expenses, workshop organizers or affiliated sections will receive 90% revenue and AAA will receive 10%.

If the workshop is affiliated with a section, the section will receive the 90% revenue. Sections are responsible for paying out any honoraria to presenters. If the workshop is not sponsored by a section, the organizer will receive 90% revenue, minus expenses.

If you wish to partner with another section, and if you indicate the workshop registration revenues should be paid to the affiliated section(s) you identify, the revenue will be divided evenly among both sections.

Choose whether you will be collecting registration fees (or not) below. If you are indeed collecting registration fees you will be prompted to select where those fees should be allocated in the next section.

All in-person workshop will take place during the 2023 Annual Meeting.

In this section, please answer the questions and provide us with any important information you have regarding your availability. We will take all of what you provide into account when scheduling and do our best to accommodate requests. Scheduling requests cannot be guaranteed.

How does the proposed topic advance the science of anthropology, and / or the professional interests of anthropologists?

How will active learning techniques, such as polling questions or breakout rooms, be used in your presentation?
How does this presentation attract audiences outside of anthropology, including those with interdisciplinary interests?
