Guidelines, Expectations, Monitoring, and Authorization

The Student Peer Introduction Network Program is designed to help student attendees communicate, share experiences, and create bonds with other students during the Annual Meeting. Anyone participating in the Student Peer Introduction Network Program is expected to follow these guidelines to help create an inclusive and productive space for everyone. Every Student Peer Introduction Network Program group member will:

  • treat each person in their group with respect, value, and compassion.
  • make an effort to respond to communications in a timely manner.
  • not pressure other members to share additional contact information. Asking group members one time if they would like to share additional contact information is the limit.
  • work towards creating an inclusive, safe, and judgment-free space with their group.
  • abide by the AAA Policy on Sexual Harassment & Sexual Assault.
  • abide by the AAA’s Principles of Professional Responsibility.
I agree with the above expectations and guidelines
The Student Peer Introduction Network Program is designed to be interactions of students outside of the AAA meeting space, and communications will NOT be monitored by AAA or any other Annual Meeting representative. Every participant agrees to follow the guidelines listed above and understands there may be consequences for failure to follow the guidelines, including removal from the AAA Annual Meeting or restrictions from attending future meetings.

If you are in a situation where someone has failed to follow the guidelines, please alert a AAA Staff Member as soon as possible.

We will make every effort to have a minimum of three people in each group in case one group member's ability to participate has changed. Please get in touch with a AAA Staff Member as soon as possible if your ability to participate with your group changes before or during the meeting.
I understand the above statement and choose to participate knowing the communications will not be monitored for adhering to guidelines by the AAA
To introduce Student Peer Introduction Network (SPIN) Program to each other, a AAA Staff Member will send students a group email. AAA will share my name, email, preferred communication methods, and pronouns with the other members of my Student Peer Introduction Network (SPIN) Program Group. Students are under no obligation to share other contact information.
I agree that the AAA can share the information I provided with the assigned Student Peer Introduction Network (SPIN) Program group
